Exeinfo PE is a handy little program that allows you to look at all of the details on an EXE file. This is a great tool for packers and for EXE protectors. Exeinfo is currently being offered as freeware, so you don’t have to take much of a risk to try it, and once you do you’ll be hooked and never want to be without it.
Some of the standard features of the program are built-in function keys. These are F3 for an external view, running Hiewdemo.exe, F4 to run Hiew.exe, and F5 to run the RDG Packer Detector. You can also save your overlay as an external file or choose to generate a file without creating an overlay. It contains a “www” side address searcher plus an ExE PE ripper, allowing the creation of an EXE within an EXE.
File management tools in Exeinfo let you change the filename, create a backup copy (BAK), or delete a file. Rolo Lamer Protector v0.1b lets you work with small files, and the execute file function allows for error reporting on your EXE files.
The newest version of Exeinfo contains some improvements over the last version, including some small GUI changes to make it a better program overall. It also has a new signature added. The addition I like the best is the plugin detector, a feature I find useful when I am working with EXE files. This program is something no serious user should be without, and by downloading it right now you can get your copy for free. What could be better?
