Take Command is the next step in command line tools that allows a new approach to working in Windows, bringing together the power of command lines with the ease of the Windows interface. Take Command uses CMD.EXE commands and batch files, then adds thousands of new features, giving it more power and flexibility than ever imagined.

Command Line Features:
· Modify commands with the command line editor
· Copy, delete, move, and rename whole groups of files, not just single files
· Directory searchs allow you to switch directories on your system by entering only part of its name
· Quickly locate specific text in the file anywhere on your system
· Built-in viewer
· Select or exclude using date, time, size, or various extended wildcards
· Change commands, create new ones, functions for your common tasks, and even set frequently used commands to a single keystroke
· Allows direct access to HTTP, FTP, and TFTP files in all file-handling commands
· Configuration adjustment, either through the command line or interactive dialogs
· File names can be up to 511 characters long

Batch File Features:
· Debugger
· More than 130 built-in variables including free memory, system configuration, free disk space, device status, and network drive detection
· More than 200 variable functions lets you work with and display strings, characters, numbers, date and time, and file names

Windows Features:
· Start character mode and graphical pplications with ease - even run console programs with the Take Command window
· Customizable toolbar gives you access to the most frequently used commands
· Find File command lets you quickly search for files or text, anywhere on the system. Dialogs are accessed from the Options and Utilities menus, and for editing variables, aliases, descriptions, and startup parameters
· Commands like ACTIVATE, MSGBOX, and QUERYBOX allow you to use GUI features and control GUI applications from within your batch files
