XYplorer 12.90.0000

Developed by Donald Lessau, this trial version of XYplorer bills itself as a file management system with superior organizational features when compared to Windows Explorer. Like Windows Explorer, this application is capable of the standard gamut of Explorer functionality, including copy, paste, open in new tab, and other such functionality. Unlike Windows Explorer, users can quickly batch edit the names or file extensions of a series of files, backup files with a click of a button, and apply command-line arguments to a file that is being opened through XYplorer. Further, in an effort to fool standard analytics, users can set the modified date to the current system time without actually doing anything to modify the file.

Additional features include allowing wildcards and regular expressions in file search functions, a directory tree view, a totally configurable toolbar such that the user can keep his favorite functions at arm's length indefinitely, the ability to search for files within predefined filters or within the filter in which the user is currently browsing, and a non-modal floating preview window that is toggled with the F11 key.

In order to function properly, XYplorer requires a central processing unit that is clocked at a minimum of 100 MHz, 32 MB of RAM, and a monitor with a resolution of at least 800 x 600.

Given this is a trial version, XYplorer restricts its user with a 30-day trial period, after which the application requires that the user pay a licensing fee to continue using it. During the trial period, the application displays the words "trial version" over the preview of any image or graphic file in the preview window, displays a nag screen upon application startup, and disallows any customization of the titlebar of the main window.
