Softango review
Whether you're making your music library digital or uploading last year's pictures, it's easy to accidentally add duplicates to your media collection. AllDup deals with this problem by searching your entire PC for duplicate files, and helps you either remove the extras or relocate them, freeing up space on your computer for new movies, pictures, music, documents, and more. The search algorithm is quick and effective, using file name, length, content, date, extension, and other attributes to quickly locate duplicate copies. You can search through any folders or drives -- as many as you want, including external hard drives. A status bar allows you to watch the progress on your search. It's also possible to exclude certain items by location or size. Use this program to track down duplicate .exe files left on the computer after accidentally double-clicking the installation button. Keep the same pictures from being uploaded to Facebook or Picasa. Avoid having three different tracks of the same song in your music player, simply because you got one from a mix CD, one from the album, and one off iTunes.
Once you've identified duplicates, you'll be able to analyze the content and go over the results of your search. You have complete control over how to handle the files you find. Unnecessary duplicates can be deleted permanently or copied/moved to a folder of your choice. If you need to leave, save the search to be restored later, or export it to a TXT or CSV file. Once you've identified the copy you need, you can create shortcuts or hardlinks to the last original file, which is especially helpful when dealing with work or school documents. Use this quick, easy program to clean up your computer and simplify your life.
