DAEMON Tools Lite is freeware that provides a way for you to backup discs so they can run on your hard drive. You can backup an entire library of physical discs such as CDs and DVDs as well as Blu-ray discs and then convert them to disc image files. DAEMON Tools Lite is free and easy to use with an intuitive interface that even the novice can understand.
DAEMON Tools allows you to emulate a virtual drive which means that you can install any image file directly to your operating system without having to spend the time burning CDs. Additionally, a virtual drive works faster and more efficiently than a CD device.

Imitation of Disc Drives: With DAEMON Tools Lite you can imitate virtual CD/DVD-ROM/HD DVD and Blu-ray drives. The program allows you to create up to four CD/DVD virtual drives on your PC. Once you have created the drives they appear in your operating system just as regular drives do where you can select them for use. Once you select the drive you can select the disc image you wish to mount then you simply locate the virtual drive with the disc image and begin working with it.

Create Disc Images: DAEMON Tools Lite allows you to create ISO and MDS image files from physical discs which are inserted into CD/DVD/HD and Blu-ray drives. You can also work with images which you have created in another application.

Backup Functionality: Another key feature of DAEMON Tools Lite is it allows you to compress your images, and manage your image collection. You can also password protect your images to limit access.

Basic System Integration: The interface for DAEMON Tools Lite is very easy to use and provides you with easy access to the function via the icon located in the System Tray. The interface also allows you to use File Association to mount images directly from Windows Explorer and perform basic functions using the DAEMON Tools Gadget located on Windows Desktop.

Pros and Cons
Some of the pros of using DAEMON Tools Lite to emulate a virtual drive include a simple and intuitive user interface, high stability of program operations, low resource requirements, technical support via a forum, manual, FAQs, and company contact form. The program also offers multilingual support for several different languages.
There are very few cons listed for the program however there is mention of adware associated with downloading the program, the limitation of four virtual images for the free version, and DAEMON Tools Lite is only compatible with the Windows operating system.
