Curiosity overtook me when I saw this software available for download. English is my native tongue, so I couldn't possibly screw it up, could I? The English Practice Course II is meant for Russian speaking citizens to adequately learn and speak fluent English, which if we were still in the time of the Cold War, that might be really scary. Now that so many Russians wish to defect and/or move to an English speaking country, it is a pretty practical course.
I even picked up a few Russian words while perfecting my English. It is interesting to see how English is taught to non- native speakers because it comes so natural to us. I suppose the reverse is also true. No matter which language you speak, you have to have some working knowledge of computers because it runs on the three major operating systems and was developed using Java. If you can't run a computer on any of the three, taking the course and the quiz at the end just isn't going to work or be in your best interests.
I have a friend who came here from Russia on a work visa and I think she would definitely find this both useful and helpful. She struggled with the right words and how to spell them, and free tools like this one would work in her favor.
