A CMD - Windows command file is basically a batch file containing a series of commands that are to be executed in a specific order. CMD – Windows command files can be run in DOS or Windows NT systems. While they are similar to .BAT files, instead of being run by COMMAND.COM they are run instead by CMD.EXE. They can be viewed and even edited with a text editor because these CMD files are saved in a plain text format.
