Information about EXE files and how to open them

EXE - Windows Executable File are executable files that run programs on Windows PCs. They are also sometimes used as part of the setup and installation process for applications, during which they decompress and install the program and other files. EXE files are not compatible with Macs unless the Mac is running an emulator or is set up for dual booting with one boot partition set to run Windows. EXE files begin running automatically when the user clicks or double clicks on them, or they can be started from the run command line in Dos or Windows.
