File Extension JPS

Information about JPS files and how to open them

A JPS - Stereo JPEG Image is a single JPEG file the contains two images side by side. Each of the two images contains slight differences. When the images are viewed together in a certain way, the differences causes the human brain to interpret the two 2D images as a single 3D image. There are different methods of viewing that will cause the 3D effect. One common method is to overlay the images on each other, and view them using a pair of Anaglyph glasses that has a different filter over each eye. The filters allow each eye to see a slightly different image, the brain then constructs a single 3D image. Except for the fact that a JPS - Stereo JPEG Image contains two images side by side in a single JPEG file, a JPS file is essentially the same as a standard JPEG file. A JPEG is a compressed image file that supports up to 24 - Bit color. It has a relatively high quality and small size.
