PLUGIN - Mac OS X Plug-in

This is a file type which enables additional features or provides hardware support to programs and applications in Mac OS X. They are commonly located in a folder in the main Library folder hiearchy. Examples of this would be in the “/Library/Printers/[Manufacturer]” for printer support files and “/Library/Internet Plug-Ins” for internet based plug-ins. This file type may also be automatically installed by many Mac OS X packages and applications and are usually stored within that program or application folder hierarchy.
