File Extension TIFF

Information about TIFF files and how to open them

A TIFF - Tagged Image File Format is an image file format. The TIFF format can contain both raster and vector images, the images can be of high quality and color depth of 1 to 24 bit. "Lossy" and "lossless" compression are supported as well as multiple layering and pages. TIFF formatted images are designed for saving high quality images without the loss suffered by some other, higher compression image formats, like the standard .gif or .jpg formats. These files will usually show up as a TIF file extension and work on many different computer systems.
