Smart Defrag is one of the greatest defragmentation tools that I use to organize my files and folders to improve the performance of my computer. One thing I like about the software is that it has a sophisticated user interface that I can easily navigate through. The main window allows me to view a listing of all the drives that the program can work with. In addition, I can get information about the status of my drives as well as their total size. Boot time defrag, automatic defrag, and file system are additional pieces of information available to me. On top of that, it’s possible to add a certain folder or file that the program can submit for defragmentation.
A major drawback with this program is that it does not allow me to enlarge the window where all my drives have been listed, even if the program’s window is enlarged. The first four volumes can only be accessed if I have many volumes on my computer. The process of defragmenting can be done in three ways, which include defragmentation and full optimization; defragmentation and fast optimization; and defragmentation only. In addition, I can enable my computer to sleep, hibernate or shut down once the program finishes a certain task. I can initiate Automatic Defrag once my volume has remained idle for some minutes, which pauses when the use of resources exceeds a defined number.
I can use boot time defrag for defragmenting files that I can’t safely move while Windows is running. I can also schedule my defrags such that I need not intervene. An exclusion list can be created for folders and files that I don’t wish to have defragmented or analyzed. In Report, I can view the results of the defragmentation process. The bottom line is that this program is a powerful tool that I use to defragment volumes. It is easy to use since I just need to install it and start using it. It provides exceptionally efficient defragmentation and my system can be optimized. The Always-on feature enables Smart Defrag to work automatically.
