Softango review
I've gone to places like Kinko's and had business cards printed up. Sure they look nice, but they never arrive when they say they will and they are really expensive. I have tried to find a cheaper route, but if they don't get you on the front end of things they get you on the back end! Then I stopped and paused one day, and said, "Duh! why don't I make my own?"
Sure it requires a slight learning curve if you want something really fancy, but with software like SmartsysSoft Business Card Maker it is a breeze. I was able to use this free download demo to design exactly what I wanted in a business card. I stuck my best photo in for customer recognition, as faces jog a memory better than just a name on a card. I even framed the photo so it was a prominent feature in the corner of the card. I put in the name of my business, my credentials, my contact info, my website-- I went whole hog on this thing! It was a lot of fun too!
Even though I couldn't actually print a series of business cards from my design because of the watermark on the printout, I still got a solid design for what I wanted and I had fun doing it. I might have to check out the availability of the complete program for purchase and see if it is worth the expense versus just taking my design to a printer for "x" number of business cards. I sure hope it is, that way if I screw up the cards I can only blame myself and I can go back and fix it as often as I want and even change contact info when I need to without paying a reprinting price!
