An ISO images emulator for your personal computer.

WinCDEmu is an open-source software that allows mounting ISO images by clicking at the image files in Windows Explorer.

Each mounted image will be represented by a separate virtual CD device, as in MacOS. There is no limit for the number of simultaniously mounted images. To unmount an image, double-click the corresponding file in Explorer again, or simply eject the corresponding CD drive using the context menu.

Here are some key features of \"WinCDEmu\":

· WinCDEmu makes mounting CD/DVD images simple: double-click on an image file in Windows Explorer and a new drive letter with the mounted image will appear. You can mount as many images as you want at the same time, and you don\"t need to reserve drive letters when nothing is mounted. WinCDEmu supports ISO, CUE, NRG, MDS/MDF, CCD, IMG formats and runs on all Windows versions from WinXP to Win7.

What\"s New in This Release: [ ]

· Added support for making ISO images of CDs/DVDs
· Added an option for disabling autorun
· Added an option for keeping mounted images after restart
· Added support for translating context menu items
· Fixed NRG file parser

I finally have an ISO images emulator for my pc. The WinCDEmu 3.6 is an open source software program that allows me to mount ISO images by clicking the files in Windows Explorer.

What makes this software unique is that it makes mounting CD and DVD images very easy. I double-click on the image file inside of Windows Explorer. Then a new drive letter with a mounted image shows up. I can mount multiple images, all at the same time.

I also don’t need to reserve any drive letters if nothing is actually mounted. It runs on all Windows versions from XP to current Windows 7. The program also supports various formats including IMG, CCD, NRG, MDS/MDF, CUE and of course ISO.

The mounted image looks just like it does in MacOS. The image is represented by a letter signifying a separate CD device virtually. There’s no limit of mounted images and when I want to unmount the image, I can do so in two ways. The first is to double-click the file within Windows Explorer just like I did to mount it. I can also use the context menu to eject the CD drive that corresponds with the image I mounted.

The 3.6 version fixed a few bugs that were in the previous version. It now allows ISO images from CDs and DVDs and the mounted images can stay after a restart of the machine. It’s also possible to disable auto run and the NRG file parser issue has also been fixed. Finally, I can translate any of the context menu items if I want.

The WinCDEmu 3.6 is extremely easy to use and allows for the mounting of images just like what I was used to with the MAC operating system. Plus, since it’s open-source, new additions are constantly improving the software.
