Windows Vulnerability Scanner Review 1.54
There are all sorts of computer viruses and bugs out there that can annihilate your computer. Even with the proper protection and additional firewalls in place, some can sneak past into your Windows system and wiggle their way around until you get the blue screen of death. Extra protection for free? Sure, and it comes in the form of Windows Vulnerability Scanner.
Windows Vulnerability Scanner does scans of your Windows operating system at regular intervals looking for threats. It isolates the threats and immediately brings them to your attention, as well as a chart denoting the level of risk the detected threats will have on your system. If this software was not on your computer or laptop and already installed for you when you bought your PC, and you have Windows 2K through 7, it is fantastic that you can get it right here.
I'm of the opinion you can never have too much protection on your computer. However, you do have to make sure the anti-viral software, the firewall(s), and the program specific vulnerability scanners mesh well and won't cause a new set of problems. Really this wasn't an issue for me, as it just sent up an on screen warning every time I opened a new window. It's a security pop-up that can get old fast, but I like to focus on the fact that my laptop is completely secure and bug free.
Make sure, too, that before you download this tasty freebie, your system meets the requirements necessary to support it. You have to have 32 MB of RAM at least, and a Pentium 100 MHz. processor. Most modern computers surpass this, but if you are trying to protect files on an older computer, make sure that you've got what you need. The scanner needs speed to function, obviously, and the memory to save the program.
