What\"s New in This Release: [ ]
· The Code Signing page has been renamed the Digital Signature page.
· Previously, when your installation created a shortcut in a new program group in the Start menu, the uninstall removed the shortcut but left the program group. This has been corrected.
· There was a problem when you used a variable to name a new shortcut. Another blank shortcut would appear, which in turn resulted in two Create Shortcut actions in the script. This has been corrected.
· Previously, a problem existed with reading text files into variables from a custom dialog script. This problem could cause a hang when reading text files into variables through a dialog script. Variables processed in a dialog script had a lower size limit than variables that were processed from the main script. The Wise Installation System is an easy-to-use utility that is going to help developers be able to create a reliable and professional installation that will be able to meet a huge array of the requirements that they need. It doesn’t matter if you need to create a simple and reliable installation, an application that needs self-healing, or any Windows CE installs because the Wise Installation System is exactly what you are looking for. There are multiple applications within the system, such as: Windows Installer Editor, Wise Virtual Package Editor, WiseScript Package Editor and the Wise Mobile Device Package Editor.
Some of the enhancement features for Vista users is going to be the checking for Vista on different machines and making sure it is compatible with IE 7.0, as well as minimizing the use of reboots through the restart manager within Vista. You will have much more control of the general settings within the user privileges menu. A project can easily be created within .INF format to make it more compatible with .CAB files, which install a mobile device application. It also supports Windows Mobile 5.0, as well as many others.
There are a few different features within this release, such as there is no longer a Code Signing Page because it is now the Digital Signature Page. The previous issue of the uninstall menu removing the shortcut and leaving the program has been corrected, so now the proper procedures are in place. There were often times when a user was not prompted to reboot their computer after a program uninstall had taken place, but that has been corrected.
