World Clocks Wallpaper is a program design to update dynamically your MS Windows wallpaper. The wallpaper will display the world and the corresponding sun lighting for each continent.
You can add clocks of different place of the world and see immediately what time is it and if, for people living there, day, dust, night or dawn
World Clocks wallpaper 1.5 is freeware offered through Softango.com. It runs on any Windows operating system. Before you download, you have a chance to enlarge the walpaper icon to see how it will look on your computer screen. You are even given the options screen so you can fiddle with adding clocks and changing the color of the background, so you can get a feel for what you can do with the software when you download it.
The wallpaper is a flat map of the world that shows in real time where sunlight is falling on the earth and where it is in shadow. Above the map are clocks showing the time in various cities around the world. You have the option to add or delete clocks to show the time in cities in which you are interested.
The map shows more than just time; it is also a geography lesson. Those parts of the earth that are currently in darkness show pinpoints of electric light from cities and densely populated areas. The sunlight reflects more brightly on desert and ice capped areas. It is less reflective on places that are green or tilted away from the sun. Oceans and large lakes are visible.
The download process is easy, and the customer is warned beforehand that he will be shown advertisements for commercial products while he is getting his freeware. But, the process is quick and painless and the World Clocks Wallpaper is a fascinating look at our planet.
